Ok, point one – this is not Caroline writing this post…it’s Nick.
Caroline has a very ethical approach to her blog – if she did not see it, she won’t write about it. And she is very concientious about her spelling, grammar, etc…whereas I don’t really care all that much as long as you get the point. So she was pretty insistent that the disclaimer be clear (is the bold, underlined text enough honey?).
So, you probably know we have a new puppy – Jolie. Well, we needed a crate for her to sleep in after she whimpered her way to sleeping on the floor of the bedroom. On Monday (a holiday in France – thank god for latent Catholicism!) Caroline sent me out. Who says the hunter/gatherer role has been killed by modernity? Because I spend alot of time gathering and hunting for stuff…
First step: Get a puppy book – after all, how the hell are you supposed to housebreak these things when she won’t pee outside?? I am serious here – she absolutely refused. She would hold it outside and once inside, then go. Very annoying. so, quick stop at W.H. Smith off I headed toward BHV.
On the way to BHV I did a double take…here is why:

Yes, those are what you think – Nazi Flags. Now, if you are not aware, it is a criminal offense to display Nazi paraphelia. Apparently when you assist (as many Europeans did) in killing 6 million+ people it is best not to allow public display of reminders (and, potentially paradoxical, it is also illegal to deny the holocaust).
My initial though – skinhead convention. Espeically when I suddenly found myself in a group of German tourists. Bald tourists. ummm….
Upon further investigation it appeared to be a movie set – unless it was a joint classic car/Nazi convention:

Still, it is a bit disconcerting, to see this guy wandering down Rue Rivoli after having his lunch:

After all, isn’t a German invasion of France a bit overdue, based on their historical schedule?
